Looking for a full set of stock springs for my RD. I need to get my car emissioned and my car is way to low to do the tests. If I were to test it as is, I know my skirts and rear bumper would be ripped off. (Colorado uses a dyno type setup for emissions, major pain in the ass).

Instead of swapping springs, which would be a PITA bro, why not put on some stock rims with some thick ass tires so it'd be higher?

Or you could get some of those spring wedges to raise up the car some until you are done.

We use the dyno here in Ontario as well. My mechanic works at a Chrysler dealership, and because the car is so low, and can't get on the dyno, he just runs a "2-speed idle test'. Basically he keeps the RPMs around 800 for a minute, then up to about 2500, then its done. Passes every time and doesn't have to go on the dyno.

I know that I could get the car on to the machine, but its guaranteed to pass this way.

REDZMAN- Thats definitely a better idea. Hmmm... I do have a set of 14" rims that fit the tibby. How tall do you think I could go?

Rix- I just found a clause in the motor vehicle laws that allows for testing like that for custom cars. I will have to look into it. I had asked before and they gave me the run around. I'm going to try a different DMV and see if I can talk to someone who isnt a complete ass!

Or do as kit-fox did and jack up your car, put 2x4s in the springs, and let it down... Yikes.

I dunno my man.I've seen some BIG ass stuff on our cars.

There's a good tire/wheel calculator out there, maybe you can use that to figure out how big you can go?

Would be a lot easier for sure, and you'd only look silly for an hour or so. LOL

Get some pics though, I need a good laugh.

^LOL!!! Agreed! Maybe that would brighten my day.

Well I called to see if I could qualify for the 2 speed idle test. According to the dick on the other side of the conversation, my car doesn't qualify for a street rod, custom, or kit car. So, Rix, thanks man, that was a great idea, but Colorado automotive legislature is about as sharp as a friggin spoon. I talked to "Daryl" and got tranfered to his other brother "Darel" etc.etc.etc.....this state pisses me off sometimes.

Ericy321 - I may still consider your springs. Infact, please let me know when you have them available and how much you'll want for them. I will still be in the market regardless.

I'm tellin you man, go to autozone or Checkers or something, pick up some of the thicker spring inserts they have (always at the energy suspension section). Go home, jack the car up, and put the inserts in place. Let the car down, it should be an inch or more higher each.
