when i bought my rd2 the hood was an aftermarket "scoote" hood, and it was a little messed up. but i didn't think it was anything major. well i finally got to see what this one's capable of and the hood flew off.... shattering my window and denting my roof. seems as though the bottom half of the hood seperated... i still have it but i don't want to put it back on after i buy a new window just to have it smash it again.

anyone have a hood for an RD2? i don't care what it is, or what color, it just has to be able to serve its purpose right now. i really don't want to fork out the cash for a new aftermarket one, since i'm really not looking to go aftermarket on the looks department for anything on this one... but if soneones got one for it and will give me a decent price i'll deff. buy it. i have cash right now and i will be buying one new next week if i can't find one... please help!

There have to be a couple dozen in DFW area junkyards. Hit the phone book and let your fingers do the walking. Paying someone to ship one will probably add $50+ to the price, more if properly packed, vs. $0 for a local pick-up.

Some guy locally was selling one on CL for $60 unpainted and I believe he got it from Hyundai...... Too bad Tampa is a long ways from Texas lol.

I've got 2 in my garage I'm about to throw out. One black, one red. The black one is scratched up, but works fine, the red one has one small dent that I can think of, haven't looked at them in a year.

I will NOT attempt to ship these again, but you can have one, or both, for FREE, if you pick them up.

You can also stay here for a turnaround point.

stocker i've hit up all junk yards by my house about a dozen times... it took 3 weeks just to find a set of bumpers (front and back) and the front fenders. believe me i've tried. the only ones up here in junk yards are completely stripped.

i take that back, there's a couple prestine rd1's.

I've got a hood as well in cobalt blue. I live in Utah, which is a little bit away from ya, but If you're really interested I'll try to work something out with the shipping and what not.

redz if it comes down to it i could see myself spending gas money to come out there, if anything else it would give me a chance to take a gander at your tib, heard it was pretty sick.

The drive across Texas isn't all that bad, unless desert scenery makes you crazy or your a/c or radiator have problems. My in-laws are in El Paso, I've driven it a few times. Don't speed through Ozona. Don't speed in the Rocky Mountains foothills where you can't see around the corner.

Give it a nice round 700 miles: 700/30MPG = 23 gallons x2 for a round trip = 46 gallons. 46 times $2.50/gal puts you to

$115 which is a decent price for a hood. Plus you get to hang with REDZ.
