might wanna' make sure you're getting the right bolt pattern d00d. it can't be 4x100 or 4x114. ours are all 4x114 - i'm pretty sure.

Sorry man.

17 = Heavy and rough ride, easily damaged.

18 = 17 X 2.

Chrome = 18 X 3.

I'm assuming you don't care about performance right?

WHOW! Thats the first time i hear somethging like that.... Not all 17" are heavy and rough ride. And if they are good quality they are not easy damaged!!!! My 17's are far less heavy than 15's and very easy going on the road....its all in the quality.....

Well, you are sorta right and sorta wrong.

Let's put it this way.

You buy 17's from Company A, in Style A.

Style A Rims weigh 25 pounds chromed at 18 Inch.

Style A Rims weigh 20 Pounds Chromed at 17 Inch.

Style A Rims weigh 17 Pounds Chromed at 16 Inch.

Due to heavier weight AND thinner tires (you'll have to put thinner tires on to make them fit), your rims will get damaged more for the same style rims.

Now...

Style B rims from the same company.

Style B Rims weigh 20 pounds NOT chromed at 18 inch.

Style B Rims weigh 17 pounds NOT chromed at 17 inch.

Style B Rims weigh 14 pounds NOT chromed at 16 inch.

The Style A rims at 17 Inch will damage easier than the style B at 17 inch.

Good quality rims are just that. Made well. They can still get damaged though, you just paid more for them.

I'm more about performance, so I go for LIGHT rims at a reasonable size. I'm running 16 inch rims, that look perty good, and only weigh 13 pounds each.

13 pounds mang. That's perty light. I have a decent sized tire on there for a QUALITY ride, and they handle GREAT in turns. The amount of power I'm getting back with the lighter rims is very noticable.

17's aren't horrible. They just aren't the best. I'm not saying mine are.

Hell, the best rims to get would be some 13 inch lightweight stockies.

Ugh.

^^^ I am assuming that Redz means lightweight 14 inch stockies, not 13. 14 barely fits on my car as is tongue.gif I still dont like how close the rim is to the brake caliper.

Back on topic, I would definitaly not go with 18's. 17's MAX. If you search this site, there are plenty of people who will tell you that 18's rub.

You never specified if these were going to be for ride or show. If you are getting chrome 17s for show then you wouldnt worry too much about the ride. But on the other hand if you are getting them for every day use you may want to steer away.
