1. are 97 RD1 windshields the same as 01 RD2's?

AEMTIB01, there is a 2001 red Tiburon in Zelland Michigan that is at AutoSports Unlimited that I have gotten parts off of. You can reach them at 1-800-695-1021. I believe there is also an RD2 at a salvage yard in Detroit. Little closer to Penn. as far as shipping goes. Don't remember the name of the place, but their # is 1-800-283-3634. I actually need a windsheild too, but I'm just getting a new one. Probably only a little more expensive that buying one from a salvage yard AND paying for shipping, risking damage (glass, ouch!) I don't remember the price I was quoted, but it was around $250-$300 for new.

yeah the 1st gen windsheild wont work. But wont your car insurance cover it? Mine cracked and I got a brand new one for free. I get I think 3 before I have to pay.

^^^ It all depends on what your comprahensive deductable is. I pay more each month to have it at $0. So when in the last 2 months I have had my windsheild replaced twice I have not paid for anything where if you had for say a $100 deductable then you would have to pay $100 for each one.

Definatly not too bad! Each time I got my windshield installed it would have cost $350 for the shield and the install. So even if you only have to pay $100 of that you are still better off!

glass coverage depends on state...
in MA, if you have full comprehensive insurance, glass replacement is freeeeeee. zero deductible
so, AEM... do you have full comprehensive? have you contacted your insurance co?
edit: just realized you had a gripe here... other ppl, please refer to the gripe page to talk about insurance deductibles and such. don't need 2 threads w/ the same EXACT stuff in it

i just talked to my insurance today, and they told me that i have a 0 dollar deductible, and they will cover a brand new one for free.. and hey sorry for calling you out like that liz, just figured u had one sittin around u were tearing parts off of. haha.. thanks for all the info again guys, you always pull through for me
