someone with 1.8 ecu willing to ship to the UK
I'm also in need of a 1.8 ECU because this is not available over here in the UK, I'm looking for someone willing to ship one to me.

I always thought the 1.8L motor was more prevelant in Europe than here. the majority of US tibs came w/ the 2.0L, though we do have a few members w/ the 1.8L.

Hi harry, I wouldn't like to rain on your parade but, aren't all coupes in England MAP based? If things are how I think they are, you won't be able to swap ECU's, in the US and Canada they use Bosch ECU's, in the rest of the world (for first and second gen Tibs/Coupes) it's the Siemens ECU what's in use.
You might want to get in contact with Rick if you want to buy a performance ECU upgrade... or maybe David from Kspec can get you a stock 1.8 ECU (Korean spec = MAP based), although, I haven't heard of benefits from swapng 2.0 MAP ECU's for 1.8 MAP ECU's, that would be very interesting to find out...

Actually, it's enough to open the engine bay and check for the MAF sensor.
I bet your brother's air intake has a hose that goes straight from the airbox (assuming it's stock; if not from the Filter) to the throttle body. If it has a piece that divides that hose in two sections, it has a MAF; but I don't know from any RD Coupe with a MAF in Europe.

2 possible problems here.
1. 1.8L ECU's from the US may not work elsewhere, ODBII and MAF/MAP .
2. 1.8L ECU's overseas may not work here, or in later models, depending on the wiring harness.
From what I've heard, the 1.5L ECU and 1.6L ECU work wonders too.
