Ok,... you must understand that RD1 and RD2 boots, shifter surrounds and rings are different and in the way they attach.

RD2 boot with our without the bottom ring WILL NOT fit onto the RD1 Shifter surround and visa versa.

You must have a RD2 shifter surround if you want the boot and lower ring, like in the pix I sent you. IT WILL NOT FIT ONTO YOUR RD1 Shifter surround.

I have an RD1 shifter surround and boot on my RD2. Same with the stereo surround. It has a little different design to it but it fits and stays good.

Oh, sorry kaijai. I didn't read carefully enough. You are right about that. That is actually the reason I changed it, the rd1 setup is a lot better looking than the rd2.
