I wouldn't wish the OEM shifter on anyone. I understand you want it close to stock for some wierd reason,k but why not just put a OEM knob on a short shifter?

-A new fuel door, preferably in black if I can get it - cheaper to buy a new one unless you find someone parting out a black car. they are like 20 bux brand new, dirt cheap.
Where can you find a fuel door brand new? The dealership wants $45 for it and I can't find them anywhere else. What am I missing here?

try hyundaipartsonline.com for fuel door and misc stuff you may need, they are cheaper then dealership
but for some things i just go through dealership for cuz of not having to pay shipping and handling charges

Ebay?
BTW, KFXPerformance has one short shifter left in stock. Fully assembled and ready to roll.

And here is the actual door.

I highly recommend Four Green Auto, he's a good seller.

Awesome. May I ask why you are keeping it so stock?
It's a great ride with just a bit of money put in it. I can't belive my car is this old and I still grin like a 2 year old when i drive it.

Dude you don't need a brand new fuel door, I have a black one that I'm giving you.
Also, yeah I agree with everyone else, if you're gonna go through all the trouble of doing the tranny swap, get a short throw.

TC, yeah I know I'm getting one from you, it's sort of a post-mortem conversation on the topic.
I may not keep it stock forever, but for the time being I'm doing it. Understand, I got the car for $500, and it's been through a lot of neglect and abuse. I figured I'd go ahead and invest my money in the essentials first and get it back to square one before I start modding it.

^^ I understand that philosophy I'd just recommend setting out a plan and then following it. no need to end up buying parts twice (stock shifter then a short throw, headers then a turbo manifold, etc.)
