Looking For Double Din To Single Din Stereo Kit

they really arent that bad imo.
sourcing a correct year and style radio surround along can be a pain in the ass, and these cheap kits off ebay can provide a quick temp. solution and perhaps even a permanent one if you like it a lot.

I only had to do some cutting because I wanted to remove the CD pocket which is built into the Metra kit just below the slot for the head unit so I could put the switch plate I made in its place. To use one of these kits you won't have to do any cutting. If you are interested in this type of Metra kit as a temp or perm solution I can post the Metra part number...at least the one I used on my 2001.
BTW - I have already sent KDMGuy a PM about a price for a single din surround for a 2001. If interested I can let you know what I hear back from him.

I already PM'd KDMguy as well. The Metra part # would be great, post or PM me. I just found out they have a shop right down the street and my company has an in with them (freaky coincidence...our customs guy was just talking about Metra then I read this). I'll probably grab up the metra one at least as a temporary soultion, so I can get my system back together.

Metra part number: 99-7312
When I first got mine they gave me one listed for my model but it was definitely wrong...it was more square with sharp corners...the part number above is the right one for the install kit with rounded corners and was the right fit for my 2001. At worst this is a decent solution to get your head unit installed and functioning until you can get a single din surround.

I'm definitely going with this kit, at least temporarily. I can't beat it when I can pick it up (literally, from their warehouse right in town) for under $10...no-brainer.
Thanks, Hardate. Can't wait to see how it fits!

Would you guys like me to setup a full kit for this on Seoulfulracing.com ?
it would include the Pocket, the 2 hole surround, and the mounting hardware for your 1 Din stereo.
Probably well under $50. Hell, probably right around $30 shipped, for OEM parts.
I can set it up for RD1 and RD2, so you have the perfect stuff, all at once.
Or you can get the KDM Dash swap for the RD2, it's friggin SEXY. I can also have him add the pocket and hardware as an option to that too.

Redz if you can setup the kit on Seoulfulracing.com, that would be awesome.
BTW - KDM's dash swap is SWEET. Depending on the price of these kits I may have to consider spending the extra to just swap it all out.
Thanks for the help.

Well, I'll get on it when I get home tonight. Expect accurate pricing within a week.
Also, you know, if you have a RD2, put on Clear Corners, Turbulence Skirts, and the KDM Dash swap, you have now done the KDM Conversion and are now driving a turbulence.
