Alpine has been getting a lot of bad publicity in the RD comunity due to "old" rumors. I would like to hear the opinions of the people people actually have the kit now. What do you think about the quality, tune, power, ease of installation, etc.? When did you purchase the kit? Do you have the new Garret turbo they're putting in them, or the Mitsu td04?

(I do not want to hear from people who DO NOT have it on their car.)

This will be a pretty empty thread, I can't think of anyone that uses it anymore.

This is soon to change though, Kspec.com will most likely be providing fuel injectors, maintec manifolds, and other parts to help upgrade the kits to be able to hold MUCH more HP.

Hobgoblin is a good one to ask about this kit. He had it on his car, when he blew his motor.

Random had the turbo AND the supercharger, so PM him also to post here.

CBHage? Maybe?

I personally did not have the kit, but a few people on ElantraXD.com have had them. They said the product was great, but it was the support that lacked to back it up. Colin (CBehage) bought the kit used, and it was not properly installed on his car, but I drone in it, and I can say, it was fast. The quality was there, they just need to get their support base back.

To be honest, I've been thinking of buying something through them. I'd love to hear some testimonials on people who have purchased it recently.

KeWLKaT at EXD have it and he loved the kit but hated the support Alpine give, he had hard time contacting them when he had problems, they even owed him money and it took more then 6 months and lawyers threats to get it!

So if you want the kit, just wish you won't have problems or missing parts, 'cause you'll wait lots of time before getting it!

I would be a willing guinea pig in November. If they will provide support for me I will purchase one in November and do a review on it. If they offer a discount that would be a bonus as well. wink1.gif

Felix was not missing any components. It was a mistake on my part I put the wrong picture on the web page link for the entry level kit. There was one issue that had to do with Hyundai redesigned the manfold/cat on newer vehicles so the existing downpipe wouldn't mate up to the OEM exhaust system. Most people replace thier restrictive exhaust to help the turbo breathe so we didn't hear about the problem till felix. And boy did we hear. Needless to say ALL of his issues were resolved and I personally payed him his money. Now that the move to colorado is complete I can really start turning things around. I only hope you RD folks will give us another chance because I'm 100% sure you would be pleased with one of our kits on your ride.

^^ Like I said if you would like a test mule I would love to do it. I would not be able to purchase a kit until the end of November though.

The major problem I had with my kit was the darn Unichip... I think that that was the main problem that mine went up in smoke... If it wasn't SO F***ING HARD to find a dealer to get it programmed... I had problems with mine and the only help I had was over the phone, which was next to impossible to get in contact with anyone...

But hey, maybe things are going to turn around! I myself would never buy one, but I hope the best for them.
