hey that's my intake! sweet, glad to know it will have boosted air going through it. wink1.gif

I thought about saving it for my turbo project, but i figured just a straight pipe would be fine/better. No weird bends like the AEM and takes up less space.

what're you doing with the filter I sent you?

and scrap the screw clamps I sent with the intake bro, get yourself some t-bolt clamps.

actually I noticed you are using screw clamps everywhere. Unless you don't mind getting into the habit of pulling over with your flathead screwdriver in your back pocket to tighten boost leaks every few hours, GET SOME T-BOLT'S!

Thank you all for a great response you gave me.

2 SOCKS: Well not sure what compression it will be but since I shaved head same as my friend on his 1.8 machine and after putting same head gasket his compression was 11.0:1 I am counting on either 9.0:1 or lower. I will have it measured when the engine gets finished and then I'll let you know. Well, I will try to get rid of that one coupler and put just one.

2 Blizagaxx: well as Nate said it is quite easy because AEM pipe just finishes at the sam place where is the end of IC pipe so one more coupler and that is it.

2 Patreezy: Thank you my man that pipe came just naturally there hail.gif. Actually I like those bends and I am thinking if those bends actually help with N/A setup there is nothing wrong those can do to a turbo setup fing02.gif . As for the filter it will be used as a turbo intake filter fing02.gif . Well I do not mind having a flathead scredriver in my backpocket. I was trying to get some T-Bolt clamps but there seems to be a shortage of those in our market. I will remove those and put T-bolt clamps as soon as I get them. So do the T-bolts hold everything tighter in place or what?

yes, ten fold. instead of the tightening force applied by your flathead screwdriver and the small screw you ratchet t-bolt clamps tight and they STAY tight.

Those AEM clamps are fine for the AEM's purpose, but I bet you money the first clamps to pop loose will be your inlet piping to your intercooler, and possibly the outlet and the ones on the AEM's outlet soon thereafter.

There is no "shortage", t-bolt clamps are universal (they are not made for specific vehicles). They come in different sizes, to clamp down different size couplers/piping, but amazon.com is supposed to have the cheapest apparently.

were you able to utilize the aem's middle mounting bracket in the original location?

Ok I'll get T-Bolt clamps then. As for the shortage, what I meant is that I could not find those in any of our store here in Croatia and could not wait another week or two to get them from abroad. I know those are universal. Anyway, I'll set it up as it is (actually my shop will) and then get them changed when I get them ;-).

Yes middle moutning bracket was utilized in the original location and IC piping were set up to end just at the sam place where the AEM ends.

any idea when the shop will have this finished.. i can't wait to see the finished project.

again, i have been just waiting to see someone actually use the AEM as their hot IC piping. its so simple and it saves money/time.

did you get a BOV adatper to have welded on the AEM? you might also want to find a good way to secure the IAT sensor into the AEM, itll wanna blow out under boost.

It should be finished by the end of this week. Tomorrow it will be driven to another shop which will make a custom downpipe and afterwards to the dyno shop to put in boost controler, fifth injector and program the maps into Unichip. Yes the BOV adapter heas been welded onto AEM on Friday (these pics are of Wednesday). Good point for IAT sensor fing02.gif

Can we get more pics of that bumper? It looks sick man!

Isn't 3" ID pretty big for IC piping (that's what the AEM is)?

Why does your fuse box cover get red writing? Mine is a washed out green..

I'll get you pics of the bumper by the end of this week after I get my car back. Well, I am not sure if 3" is to big or not but the IC itself has a same diameter (or even larger not sure) of piping connectors. so I assume it would be alright.

Fusebox is red because my car was intended for italian market and for some reason they made the fuse box red (and everything on it and in it is in italian). Here in Croatia we also get green fuse box cover.

Well the work on car has prolonged. AEM pipe will not be used in the end. It was coming of under boost and there was no way to secure it. At the moment the car is at the custom piping shop. They will make all of the piping from scratch. My biggest problem at the moment is that I cannot put my hands on silicone couplers for the turbo and piping there seems to be shortage of those overhere and no one will be ordering any soon due to the summer holidays. Crap.

I was kinda hoping to see a Turbo-Tibby with a presssurized AEM pipe. Gonna fabricate something else then?
