lol, break was the perfect time for my boss to convince me into working 9 and ten hour days. :?

i really have spread a ton of info out on the subject here though. do a search for my name and "carpc" and you should find some useful stuff. you pretty much have to have experience building actual computers. anything else i say would probably already have been answered somewhere like here:

if you still have questions though feel free to start up a thread in the interior forum and i'll be sure to answer everything to the best of my ability.

I have a few questions for you about the actual components used.

What form factor motherboard are you using? I was going to build a carputer eventually, but I wasn't aware there was motherboards smaller than microATX. I've found cases that are about 13"x 10"x3.5" that I was thinking of using, but now that I found out about ITX it brings in whole new possibilities.

Also, with the touch screen, that is just USB controlled? I saw another connector on the lilliput touchscreen you linked, kind of looked like a connector for a keyboard/mouse, but reversed.

I've built MANY computers as that's the career path I'm going to college for, but with normal computers, the bigger and more powerful the better, so this whole 4" motherboard with not very strong processors scene is a little out of the ordinary for me.

Thanks man

it's a via epia mII10000 mini-itx motherboard. 17cm x 17cm if i remember correctly, and ultra low power. the small carpc purpose built cases are pretty expensive, easily over 100 dollars. it all depends upon what you want to fit in there that decides the case. check out travla cases.

the touchscreen is in fact usb controlled as well, and vga.
