I've read about it on this site and others. I've seen the final product in person on early model vehicles. It's a alright paint job. It's pretty common on older cars around here. They usually make the paint so thin that it requires 7 layers to fully paint it and it self-levels with no roller marks.
Here's a DIY
http://www.rickwrench.com/index79mas...llarpaint.html

We were considering this for my buddy's eclipse but we decided to go with a paint booth and a spray-on job because he wants to add enough clear that any scratch can be removed easily and since we're already spraying clear, it's just as easy to spray the paint. The main advantage of the roller method is that it can be applied anywhere with very few tools.

Coal, out of curiosity, how much have you spent on your tiburon so far including upgrades not standard maintenance?

just updated mine. http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?&au...item&CID=15

You've got a serious NA performance profile going.

DTN:
$30 on stuff for the roof vent
Free AEM intake (gift)
Strut tower bars $10
1.8cam $100 kspec (wasn't worth the $ in my opinion)
Eibach springs $200 + KYB Struts $170
Odyessey Bat. $120
Dash about $40
Paint (Each paint job counted) $110
$60 Obx crank pulley
I have used a ton for scrap metal from other things in the car such as the shifter assembly.
Obx header little fuzzy on how much I paid for that so around $130 ebay
+80 for Random small things sounds fair

$1050 Thats all the stuff above.
then the act clutch and pressure plate can not remember price
the biggest waste of $$$ was the fidanza flywheel I spent like 200 on it.
i spent like 2xx on the exhaust

I have access to alot of tools from my father and this stuff passed to him by his father (he was a machinist).

I woundn't call it serious N/A because the engine is stock except for the cam.

I bought the paint at Lowes.
Here is the best source for the technique

Honda-tech forum rules expecially the welding and fabrication one.

I like the whole flat-black thing. Don't like the roof scoop thing.

I know the roof vent isn't that pleasing on the eye but the extra air is so nice. It is good to have positive ventilation keeps the exhaust and dust out. I could have splurged and gotten one of those ones off the jap/euro subaru's but they sell for like $300.

The screw driver handle is shift knob I have ever had. My friend got one and used it on the celica and he got one for me so I used it too (i helped build his car). I can't use a stock one anyways unless I modify it because I cut off the old lever and put a new one on that sits closer to the steering wheel. I replaced the one he gave me with a red one from walmart $7. It is firmly secured on with hot glue.

Here some new photos. I now have rims, no more power steering hydraulic lines, and a hood scoop (not finished)0 to cool the intake manifold. And one video to show how short my shift is.

Have you weighed the car?!?! I'd love to know how much the car weighs!!! I'd say spray the doors and interior panels like you sprayed the rear and it would look friggin awesome! Never have liked stripped down Tibs, but I gotta say, that's actually pretty cool. Are you gonna auto cross her or make her a 1/4 mile monster?!?!
