While yes, it's shorter, it now requires more effort to shift than before.

^^ agreed for someone with a normal tiburon (not my POS right now) there was so much slop that i couldnt get out of my old shifter that it made it incredibly hard to shift with, with the stocker in there it's shifting like butter

but for someone who wants to do a cheap diy it worked great since the torque required to move the shifter isnt that great anyways

The shift lever is... well, a lever. If you lower the fulcrum, you increase the throw and decrease the effort. If you raise the fulcrum, you decrease the throw and raise the effort. A proper short throw shifter decreases the throw by raising the fulcrum.

i have one and hate it, thats why i decided to modify the stock shifter

i8acobra- i guess i dont understand how you are raising the fulcrum with a STS when the pivotal point isnt moving at all, you are still pivoting on the same point as the stock shifter as i made sure to measure the distance from the black plastic housing underneath the shifter, up toe the bolt that the shifter pivots on

Simple... The part above the pivot (lever) is shorter, like yours... but they also make the part below the pivot longer by the same amount. This "moves" the pivot point up.

i understand the concept of that, but when i measured mine the IS short shifter didnt change the bottom half at all, mine was stock height still so essentially i just made the IS shifter out of my shifter
