Just Something Differently Done To My Car

BATTLE ROYALLL!! anyhow, you guys think it would be possible to do a small MDF box kind where DTN's is but maybe have a but more space since i would like some good solid bass that would kinda fit the mold in that rear pocket behind the wheel and the tail? (assuming i could do REALLY GOOD angle cuts)
also DTN or anyone with a custom style interior, do you think 1/2 inch thick !MP board will hold up to the job while being lighter weight than MDF? keep in mind that the board will be about 2 inches higher than stock (to line up with stock wheel) and will have ALOT more stress on it since ti will only have small supports here and there.
and another question, what material should i use for supports in between the floor and the new board/carpeting? i was thinking about trying to use something like what is in the spare tire compartment, they are like 1 inch spongey kind of pads that have double sided tape on the bottom.
last thing, what would be a good way of poor man's dyna mat? iv heard you can use the Fun Foam sheets you can get from wal-mart. but i was thinking about getting some egg crate foam and using that and paint it black. that what when i hit a bump or if the trunk rattles it wont be as bad.
keep up the "constructive criticism" or at least thats how i view it. i thought that OT dtn post was rather funny myself lol.

^^ link didn't work the first 5 times I clicked, but it does now.
Socks: I'm sorry to insult you. I know you know how to use fiberglass. I've seen your work and it's great! I just don't think you have experience with fiberglass enclosures. I didn't mean to say you don't know about fiberglass. Hug?

^^ No man you posted while i was responding.
I wasn't warned for off-topic. The guy who whored the "pix of your car" post was. My post wasn't off topic. I really think that you could use some fiber-glassing. Maybe just fiberglass a cover for the spare tire? It kinda looks funny to me.
From everything that I've read, MDF and fiberglass is supposed to be the best speaker box material to use. I don't know what "!MP" board is. Is that particle board? MDF is denser then particle board.
I looked at many different ways of doing my speaker box setup. You'll need alot more room then you can get out of a square box if you're going to try to take up that corner only. That box I have is almost perfectly 1cuft. It's like 1/8 gallon smaller (*7.5 gallons per CuFt). It runs right along the back wall and takes up every inch of space up to the spare tire.
I'm not sure what you are talking about for support. Where do you need support? Weather stripping will work just fine for support. You'll have to find some thick enough for your application, or layers.
I've heard of the fun foam stuff too. I don't know anything about it.

when you say you don't know what to use for support.... think about the skeletion inside your FG box, or under the hood. i need something imbetween so that if i put 80 lbs of pressure to a certain spot its not just air underneath and crack the board.
and i was saying that HIS post was funny nana.gif

oh, i see... um, I dunno. If you fiberglassed your spare tire cover over the top of the spare rim, then yeah, i'd use some weather stripping or something. There is no need for anything on the sides of the spare tire cover.
I don't know how you'd work it for right now. Maybe some dowels or something extending to the floor?

I really think that idea about using the rim as a grill was very creative. I think it would be best if it was with the tire and removable so that you dont lose your spare.
Jeromy, nice rims man lovin em.
