What would be wrong about outlawing abortion, except for emergencies?

The religious right considers unborn babies as sacred, then after they are born they turn their backs. How much crime is related to children that have no moral support? How much poverty is related to unwanted children? Why be against birth control then insist that the unwanted babies be born?

I feel the republican party wants to have cannon fodder for wars, cheap minimum wage earners, more fodder for their for-profit prisons. But what they don't realize is the increase in welfare, food stamps and liberal voters are the outcome. Maybe the do realize it and are just too __________ .

hey hey hey, dont generalize crazy religious guys with the republican party. both sides have crazy people.
Bill and Hilary Clinton recently praised the repeal of DOMA....and people completely ignore the fact that BILL f*cking SIGNED OFF ON IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
Obama preached about supporting whistle-blowers and yet has prosecuted more people for it than any other president EVER.
also preached about transparency but recent events (NSA, PRISM, etc) show that he has NO GAFs about it, while i do recognize the bill was signed off by a republican, if he really cared about "the people" he would've got rid of the patriot act.
everyone on the hill is nothing but corporate puppets.
there are very few people i see out there that are actually tryin to help people instead of just trying to secure a reelection.
in closing,
f*ck everyone

Or are you saying any major inconvienence or large enough finacial burden or is unloved/unwated is merit to kill someone....if it wasnt' for the illegal part....but you would if it wasn't illegal? That isn't rhetorical, I am curious as to your answer/requesting clarification.
But, you're passively killing thousands in Africa for not sending them all of your extra money after the bare minimum to live off of every check.
So, really, not that different. You've just chosen an issue to be very concerned about.

To be fair, the people starving in other countries could just as well get up a leave. People have done that for thousands of years and settled in much more fertile lands that can produce crops/livestock. At some point its personal decision, stubbornness, religion, pride, threat of harm, fear of harm, any number of excuses that make these people weak. Not to drop cliches, but "where there is a will, there is a way." The obvious point here being lack of will. Be it simply taking the tribe and understanding that sacrifices and hardship will be endured, or even as extreme as revolution or war. Not everyone will make it, but that's the nature of the beast in either condition. But to stubbornly cling to a way of life that is killing your people is just pathetic. Then to hold you hand out and cry "save my baby." Get over yourself. The point is, this argument in the context is silly. A people that sit idle and allow themselves to die are not the same as an unborn fetus or child of a perfectly healthy adult that is in the balance. The African children are victims of consequence and poor decision making, not the butterfly effect. If that's your cause, cool; but don't expect results from ten thousand miles away.

It's going to distract from the thread to argue that point, but the reality is as healthy person in North America contemplating abortion as if it were a child born in the harshest African environment imaginable is a ridiculous analogy. You're comparing a potential human life born, at worst (presuming you're in the position to afford and contemplate the procedure) to an unfit home to that of an existing human born of a fearful, pitiful soul. No matter how you try to justify it, the comparison is silly. Unless you are willing to throw you life away, relocate and fight (in some cases literally) for that person right to what-have-you, there is no comparison. That's a very typical American mindset to think throwing money a problem fixes it. That same argument can be made towards the people seeking abortions to solve their dilemma, but even that's a gross over generalization.
The fact is, wasting your quality of life on a vain ill-attempt to solve the worlds problems is nothing like throwing away the life (arguably to-be) of another person who has no way to defend itself.
The only analogy that I can see fitting is hunting a caged newborn deer fawn... with a bazooka.
