Heh, again, OP talking about something he has no idea about.

A ported and bored IM will get you maybe 1 or 2 whp. Tops. A BBTB and BIM combo will do a bit more, maybe, and that's being generous, 5 WHP.

The runners in the OEM IM suck. Bad. Look into the IM/TB opening and look at where the runners go down. You can't get in there and clean that up. Also, try to bore more than 4 or 5 MM out of the IM, you can't without some major work. Then you still end up with the OEM IM with short runners, no velocity stacks, and a very rough TB flange. Yes, you'll see some gains with it, but nothing compared to the Tigerlilly Surge Tank or either version of the Airram.

Velocity stacks and longer runners are proven.

Oh, I know OP will come on here and blah blah blah about this and that, but also remember that a airram style manifold will be better for your future boost setup if you go that way.

It's a gift that keeps on giving. I had a bored OEM IM, I got a airram. So have several others.

Whatever you say Redz... I'm not gonna start arguing with over this shit again cuz you are always Mr. Right, it's pointless to try to prove something to you.

As I said earlier in my post with ported, bored, and polished IM you should see anywhere 6-10 whp if you get a BBTB and already have a nice CAI like AEM or something that grabs real cool air. While AIRRAM is a must if you go FI and plan on hitting 300whp+, ported IM will be just good enough for you unless you plan on squizing every HP out of your car. $150 VS $500 for extra hp or two isn't worth it IMO. But it's your choice what you want to get.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tibbytib @ Oct 8 2005, 12:56 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'>OP: How do you think it compares to the AIRRAM? It would definately be cheaper! Money that could go towards a TB since I need one of those as well. Hmmm. got me thinking now! My email is tibby99@hotmail.com

I have a nice air compressor and tons of air tools in my basement. My father and I need to learn how to weld steel and then we can say that we can pretty much do everything!

Well, whoever is right or wrong, looks like I'm out again on a purchase for my car. I got a strange vibration coming from the drivers front wheel. Just started happening last night. Its pretty bad. I gotta get this fixed first before I do anything. Cancel my dibs. 02.gif I am getting the car looked at in 2 weeks (I am going to Kansas this week) and wont know the damage until then. SO, good luck selling your IM Pat, and OP, Your work looked great, I'm sure it would have worked nicely.

okay, I'll probably still have it waiting for you man, whenever you fix your car and all...

It may just be cheap wheel bearing fix, have you had wheel beraings replaced or problems recently?
