the armoury which im assigned to was gonna throw the away, b/c is switching from the BDU/DCU's and going with the ACU's (simular to the marines).

I would say yes. I pluged it into my controller and it fit, but didnt actually turn it on to see if it works.
Now the comfort of it is a personal preferance. Yes it is a "cheap" headset, came from Dollar General, thats why Im only asking $2
