thanks for the input, redride...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Patreezy @ May 24 2006, 08:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>are you going to include the hatch struts with the spoiler.
Btw, the hatch struts are a PITA to get out once they are in. Just curious though, if you planned on including them. They are a bit stronger for the extra weight of the spoiler (over stock/none). Sometimes so strong when I pull the hatch release lever the hatch will pop and slowly (very slowly) start to open until it reaches it's full open position. Makes for a cool sight when you are pulling up somewhere to load the back of your car. wink1.gif</div>
pat, i'm pretty sure that the hatch strut for all of our cars are the same...on mine, i've got the type r spoiler (comes with the car stock) and i do have to lift on the hatch to open, it doesn't go up slowly like go up like you have mentioned... maybe those were aftermarket, stronger struts you wer mentioning.
thanks for pointing that out but i'm pretty sure that the struts on that car in the pic here would be the same with the stock one with any other cars
and on that note, just to be clear... this thread is for the spoiler only

The yard is actually asking around $185 - $200 (depends who is calling the shots that day) for the spoiler; the rest will cover for shipping/packaging and a bit for handling fees. I'm only asking $320 and i'm not really making anything on this... basically it's my cost plus shipping and handling
A member here has sold a couple of these at $230 plus ($80-$95)shipping on here, which seems to be the ongoing rate right now

They're not. RD1s have three support options; no spoiler, standard, and the big-ass shark spioiler. All three have different part numbers, and none fit RD2s BTW. RD2s have slightly shorter supports.
I'm trying to talk my brother into this, will know by tomorrow evening.

fonesca,
thanks for clearing on that... i didn't really do any research on what i've got on mine versus to what the rd1's have, i was just speculating due to the way on how the trunk is opened up... it was the same for both cars...

allright...
this PFS thread maybe heading to a close pretty soon.. due to costs issue and less interest, i'm sorry
i've called the yard just a couple of minutes ago; yes the spoiler/car is still there but the price went up for some reason. i have told the them that the price given to me earlier was way lower by another employee (dan), but no luck... they said that that was wrong and this is a very expensive part if i get it directly from the dealership ($500) yada-yada.
so this is just coming to the point that this maybe "not worth it" for me coz i'm not even gonna get covered for my costs
i'll try to talk to them again tomorrow about lowering the price, maybe even look for dan (employee who qouted me the low price in the past)
so if there's anyone there interested, please let me know

Yes, from the dealership it is CRAZY expensive, you have to buy the pieces separately now, comes to about like $700 +
The flat /long part of the wing is like $450 ALONE!
They used to get have a Shark wing kit available through Hyundai Auto Canada, back in 98-2001 when these things were still pretty active. Lots of them were getting stolen / vandalized so it was easier for the insurance companies / body shops to fix, by just mounting the entire thing and paint, instead of all the individual pieces,... but alas, that kit is no more, I think I saw the last kit sell in 2003,...
Anyway, this is pretty much the only option now.
Someone jump on a Shark Wing if they want it.
