Default Work off commission or not?

depends on what kind of work it pertains to, whether its like a stereo shop where you have lots of repeat customers coming in, or if its a car dealership where your probably not gonna see too many repeat customers.

i would do it

Do it big time. If you're a good salesman, you could rack up the cash in a hurry.

It depends on how well you could do the job. Financial Managers/Stock Brokers work solely off commission: If they don't have clients, they don't have money.

Will you be working in a store taking customers as they come in? Will you be expected to bring in your own customers? Is it possible you will only get 1/6 of the customers that come in and buy something (are there others that could take away from your profits)?

It depends on your personality, ability to convince people to buy, and what you'd be doing. If you didn't sell anything for an entire week, would you get any money?

Now by commission do you mean and hourly / salary base plus commission on commission on its own? I have worked in both environments and am currently in the salary plus commission area. The straight commission can be great as long as you are a good salesman and you are selling a product that everyone needs on a daily basis. The problem is when you sell something like care performance parts. The market usually falls on its face in the fall / winter. So if you dont have a base you may find your self working 40 hours and getting paid jack.

So altogether dude it matters how much risk you are willing to take to make that extra buck.

Commission sucks, all it takes is one bad day or week, and your check is screwed.

Joe The Canadian, you need to change your sig, it's way to tall.

Well you're getting a hell of a deal then. I'm a CSR at a company in WV and depending on how good you are, you can get anywhere from 9 to 40%!!! 40% is a freakin' ton. I say definately go for it.

Insurance?

OUCH.

I'd never EVER get involved.
