By playing the lottery, betting on sports, going to a casino, playing a pool at work...what's the most you ever won gambling?

 

I live in Vegas. I don't gamble. Resorts aren't built with the casino's losses.

 

Most I ever won was $2500. Half of that went to Uncle Sam though.

 

On the 16th of January this year I picked up $207,714.12 AUD from our lottery here

 

That's $156,151.17 in US at todays rate. Nice score!

So, what did you spend it on?

 

Paid mortgage out, gave some to our two kids , gave some to both our parents, paid for flights and accommodation for immediate family for our daughters wedding, put some away for our sons wedding next year, bought a runabout for my family to use while they where here [2000 PT cruiser]now its a daily and the wife liked it so she wanted one so we sold her 2010 elantra for silver 2006 PT cruiser then got it resprayed in two tone silver/red, paved our front yard and put up a second carport, turned our front room into a theatre room, spending some on my elantra wagon on custom paint and a few extra's then flying off to Singapore and s/e Asia then cruise back for 14 days, still haven't spent it all but pretty close as we really didn't go overboard just planned and budgeted carefully to get the best bang for bucks.

 

Still very grateful but it was a First Division prize which is normally about $4 million but that week 20 others won as well and unfortunately the odds of winning again are slim.
