What did you score for Black Friday?
What did you get today or last night that you're happy about? I got a new 50" LED tv that I hooked up in my living room and looks great. It's replacing a 32" tube tv, which I'm putting in my bedroom.

I worked. The "doorbuster" electronics are all last year's low end stuff. I was going to try to get a TV, but as usual, they were all 60Hz LCD's or no-name plasma's. I wouldn't even buy a 120Hz TV, never mind a 60Hz.

^^ Wisdom!
They would make great gifts for friends and/or family, but as a main entertainment basin go with something that's at least up to par with the current products. When I worked in retail many many moons ago, even back then the black Friday "deals" were no-name or low end RCA crap, and most of the time you'd be lucky to have it last the warranty period. And then you have the warranty that requires you pack up the TV and pay for shipping each way, which the manufacturer knows damn well costs more than the TV did. It's all a scam. There are some deals out there, but you have to do the research. Personally I refuse to go out in that mess. There are plenty of deals come Boxing day through the end of the year to satiate me.

GoPro Black Edition, Suction cup mount, and 32GB SD card for under $300. I've been meaning to buy one for a while so I can stop borrowing from friends for diving and driving. I'm fairly content. The SD card was surprisingly cheap for a class 10.
Also, I saved $5 on the Google Chromecast. For $30 it's pretty legit. I streamed Netflix from a Macbook flawlessly, YouTube from my Android phone, and even Facebook from my Dell. This may become a stocking stuffer for a few friends

Same. Can't find a damn thing worth buying. Best Buy is giving $10 coupon for every $100 spent on In-Store Pickup, but many things suddenly aren't available for in-store pickup. Like the GoPro, which I know they have 10 sitting in my local store. Was going to buy it online and return my other just to save an extra $30.
Oh, and I was going to buy a Note 3 but Best Buy won't price match Amazon... and the Best Buy prices increased $50 from what they were 3 weeks ago when my wife bought hers. Raising prices on Black Friday?
I am considering buying this for the wife: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Escort+-...=1076628570944
$200 for Passport 8500 x50

Just grabbed a Passport 8500 X50 for the wife. $250 shipped (20% off) but also has an $80 trade-in rebate. I have a crappy model sitting at home that doesn't work, hopefully they'll take it in trade.

If it's a joke this year, it's because the economy is still in the crapper from 2007 and they have been in year-long sale mode for a while. A retailer can only cut to the bone, then you got nuthin.
