my photoshop skills are less than good, especially when it comes to logo design. i would like to replace the boot screen for my carpc though. i know how to do everything to put my image inplace of the windows one, i just need the image.

the requirements:
-640x480
-black backround
-will be reduced to 4bit, 16-colors and max 150kb, so dont get fancy with colors(it would be nice if it was already designed with those already applied to the image, but not necessary)


guidelines...

i would like the theme to be "Turbulence CarPC System". the turbulence i would like to be in the dragonfly font and an exact replica of the actual badge. the "CarPC System Loading" part can be whatever you think looks good. i think i would also like the hyundai logo, but it might look more simple and clean without it. i would also need the progress bar image. i would prefer the font to have a metallic look to it and be rised, and not just be obvious 2 dimensional white lettering on a black backround. i know the design requirements really limit it as far as asthetics go, but ive seen some good work on here and would appreciate it if you guys would help me out with this. get as fancy as you want...im initially thinking of a more simple design but if i see something that catches my eye and is elaborate that would be awesome.

i will be using this guide to implement everything if you think it will help or are interested yourself...

that does look nice, but keep in mind it has to be in 16-color, which would make that look like a bunch of random colors.

i really think just going with a simple black backround would work out the best.

 

What do you mean?
Right now, the photoshop settings are the default 8 bits per channel...

you can set your desktop to 16 bit color as well it looks pretty much the same.


oh, wait, now that i think about it, it has to be a 16-bit BITMAP, because it's gonna be the STARTUP screen, for some reason i was thinking desktop background....

right..mb. i'll see what i can do.

eh actually you should just make an rdt or hyundai one. that would be cool. If you want anything like engine schematic pics to use I could post some of them. got some nice ones. plus other schematic pics from other parts of the car.

 

not a black background, but a hyundai engine would look pimp as a startup.... like it's showing the engine bay through the screen or something.

 

16bit and 16 color are two totally different things.

16 color is ONLY 16 colors. it corresponds to 4-bit i think.

 

I was thinking like the hyundai logo(or the turbulence one) in the middle with some cool stuff around it and in the background faded pics like these. of course take out the text.





I could grab any other pictures if you interested in say a brake diagram, suspension, etc.

edit: I just realized this idea might be coming from the loading screens in sega gt if you've ever played that game. tons of fun!

I think this would make a cool high tech look. if your going for a cleaner look like zoned's this might not work for you.
