Okay, I'm using Firefox for a few days now, and have a few issues with it.

1. Whenever I hit the "BACK" button, and it goes back to the "New Posts" page, it's at the very top. I have to scroll down EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is getting annoying. Any way to have it stay where it was when you go back?

2. It used to be that when I'd post I hit the back button 3 times and I would be in the New Posts area again. For some reason, now, I have to hit it 4 to 5 times. If I wait for each page to load, I can do it in 3 tries, but it's slow. I want to just be able to hit back back back again.

Any suggestions on stuff I'd want to addon?

1. i think you're SOL

2. just hit the small down arrow next to the back arrow. look through the titles and click on it. such as "search results" or "rdtiburon.com," etc

the only addon i've got is the web developer toolbar. it can come in handy when making/designing websites.

one of the things you can do is have a side box come up and you can edit the HTML/CSS in it and see it work on your page as opposed to typing it all out and THEN seeing how it looks. its a good feature for stuff like MySpace tongue.gif

also, you know how i told you how big your signature was a while back? it comes with a ruler to measuer exact dimensions. good stuff.

Firefox Addons

have you gotten used to Tabbed browsing? its fantastic

Tabbed browsing is allright, but it'd be better if the tabs were at the bottom. Since I'm used to seeing my pages down there.

Also, the Control Tab thing sucks, I like to be able to hit it and have the little window pop up, since I often have 10 to 20 pages open, then I can pick which one I want without going through each one.

If I'm SOL for #1, I'm going back to IE. It's annoying as hell, and stupid.

As for #2, I should have clarified. I don't go and hit "BACK", I have a multimedia Natrual Keyboard, with back, forward, home, and other keys. I use them all the time. Have for years.

Unfortunately, if that's not fixable, it too is a deal breaker.

The tabbed browsing, I don't see why folks go so gaga over it. You still have the same amount of windows open, just with less space than in IE (Vertical), and they are all in one window. I'd rather use IE and go back to the grouped IE structure. I hated that, but it'd be almost identical.

The back/scroll thing only happens on a few sites for me. Unfortunately this one. Works correctly on HA though. So I just deal with it. Couldn't find any relevant info on the site.

Opening separate windows is for people who still double click to open sh!t. Tabs are cool because 1 button gets you 20 sites loaded at once. Control tab? Aren't the tabs named? If you have to open so many why don't you group them together. Like for example group the sites you moderate on in one bookmark. Group your porn in another. And the penis enlargement sites in another. Click the bookmark and you've got the group you want open. If you're that hard core that you have to have 20 open at a time then just open Firefox in another window and open a group in each window.

On the back button, standard windows keyboard use back(backspace) as the default back button for web browsing. After i post this i hit it 3x and I'm back to the new post area. Tap,tap, tap and I'm there. No waiting for pages to load. Unfortunately Im back at the top, but...

Firefox has it's downfalls, but don't give it up just yet. I know I thought it sucked when I first started using it, but that was because I had never used anything else besides IE. When you ran your poll I think the majority of folks said they loved firefox. You can't discount that. I'll keep looking into the scroll thing because that is annoying!

Anybody else got an idea?

Also, I can't get Kspec.com to come up on it at all, but it comes up fine in IE. I keep getting a timeout error.

No youre definitely SOL.

However, I learned to scroll down again rather than have my pc trashed by a malicious active x applet.

Ive been on firefox since it came out because IE can burn in hell.

Firefox - open source with hundreds of thousands of coders, hackers and all kinds of script kiddies making improvements (hackers and script kiddies are the most important link)

IE - 5 corporate asshole programmers getting paid so much money they dont care.

The last time I used IE was after a clean install and it wasnt by choice.. I forgot that if you go to read email through MSN messenger it forces you to use IE and I didnt realise it was IE that was running (I was tired, long day).

Went to a serial website to activate nero and within 5 minutes my computer refused to boot, something nasty installed itself via active X.

Honestly, for all the bugs and quirks FF has its still miles safer and more secure than IE.

What I do when searching through New Posts is right click the topics I need to look at, and open in a new tab. Once I get done with Page 1, I look through all the tabs, reply, and close. After all tabs are closed, I go to Page 2 and do it again. This prevents me from having to go Back to the New posts page and scrolling down to find where I left off.

It's all within the ability to multi-task and navigate quickly. I use keyboard shortcuts a lot! Find what works best for you. The new version of IE is horrible! I hate it! They integrated tabs and I just flat out don't like it. I suggest you DON'T upgrade if you like IE over Firefox... IE just tried to integrate Firefox's features

As for KSpec... I can't get it to load in IE or Firefox. It's never been a real compatible website... like most Asian websites it just acts like it's built for different specs.

Yeah, that would work, but it's retarded to have 2 windows open to do this site.

Also, the goddamned control tab thing pisses me off, it should work like it does in windows for Alt Tab. I like to be able to go back and forth between 2 screens quickly, with firefox, I have to hit it like 6 times to get back to the original window.

As for the "Active X" stuff you mentioned above, I have never had an issue. Especially with XP and the extra security stuff they have on it. You have to activate Active X stuff to use it. I don't.

So far, I like the speed of Firefox, the search function, and the themes are cool (Though they quickly get old).

Unfortunately, the basic stuff that should be in it, is not there. Alt Tab like window swapping (To go back and forth between 2 tabs when multiple tabs are open, or to be able to go through the tabs without having to go through ALL of them to find the one you want). The scrolling issue is retarded. VERY retarded. The 'Back Button" issue is also, very retarded. I don't understand why it doesn't work right. And since I run Kspec.com, I sorta gotta go there on a regular basis, and it obviously doesn't work in FF at all.

If I don't get some fixes for these issues this week, firefox is outtie, and I guess I'll try Opera next.

Opera has IE emulation mode or something, so is more compatible.

It's not as fast as FF tho

Control + Tab = go to next Tab
Control + Shift + Tab = Go back one tab
