1) It would be much easier in the context of a sentence.
2) Some wouldn't be able to figure it out because their mind hasn't been exposed to the word enough.

 

It works with all words you see every day mostly. We don't see psychedelic every day (Do we live in the '70s? tongue.gif) so its harder to recognize.
