There is plenty of info on axles on the site, I think that once you take off the hub, you can just pull them out. Search for clutch DIYs and info to see what getting the transmission out entails.

Bullfrog: i got the ramps from Autozone and they work ok, no problem (stock height). Same as those in blacktibs' pictures in dddude's equal length header thread.

Just as I emailed an offer to the guy (the auction still had 2 days left) I got a message back it was already sold!

Bugger... Just got everything lined up to get it too.

Damnit, don't think things like this come along too often either.
