Teens Who Allegedly Put Cellophane On Stop Sign Charged In Fatal Wreck
CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - Two teenagers who allegedly covered a stop sign with white cellophane will face charges in connection with a fatal crash at the intersection, deputies said on Thursday.
Seth R. Stonerock, 19, and Derek W. Greenlee, 18, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter and tampering with a traffic control device, 10TV's Tanisha Mallett reported.
Stonerock turned himself into authorities on Wednesday and was being held on a $25,000 bond, the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said.
Greenlee, meanwhile, was expected to turn himself in on Thursday, deputies said.
Charges against the pair of teenagers stemmed from an Aug. 17 crash at the corner of state Route 56 and Huber-Hitler Road.
According to investigators, a car passed into the intersection without stopping and was struck by an SUV pulling a boat. A passenger in the car, Mary Spangler, 85, was killed.
The car's driver, Jeanne Shea, 80, remained hospitalized in critical condition on Thursday.

So ok....the kids are total idiots and should be in jail for killing someone, but you would think anyone with a drivers license would know that was a stop sign and you should stop, regardless if its PARTIALLY covered with stuff?

^ I was thinking: the problem here is that we have two geriatrics in the car, not that we have a bigass thing covered in cellophane where a stop sign logically would be, if you are on the ball enough to still be driving.

Regardless, who the hell does that for shits and grins?!?! They are of legal age. They need to be tried and convicted. Sorry, horsing around and pranking is one thing, but this is freakin retarded. They need to go away and NOT reproduce. Ever.

Mandatory yearly drivers test for folks over 70......I say it all the time. You can't tell that that's a stop sign, it's time to hang the keys up and keep the rest of us safe.

wow... for two reasons..
if it looked like that when they went by, wow that they blew it....
wow.. for how big of idiots kids can be these days.. i say try them and push the MAXIMUM to make an example..
and yes, drivers over 60 years old i think should be tested YEARLY at the minimum..
