Makes me glad I started a family, and don't drive like I used to anymore.
Racing in a 89' Dodge Omni, WTF was I thinking. That would be me If I owned something like that, say, 10 years ago.

After reading the article there was no mention of street racing, in fact it sounds more like a hit and run than anything else. The driver of the Porsche was 51 and drunk. Hes also being charged with manslaughter. I dont see how he could be charged unless he hit the other car.

^^ they'll charge someone with manslaughter for lots of things, if he was racing he was encouraging the other guy to speed and lose control and kill himself... sounds stupid but it's true. Manslaughters what they usually give someone for unintentional murder. From reading the article it's sounds to me like they were racing, one lost control and bumped the other. Either way both drivers were in the wrong.
btw, do you think a Ferrari is going to come apart like that doing the speed limit (50mph)? This reminds me of a Ferrari Enzo wreck a while back, the guy that owned it died, I think the passenger walked away from the accident. The car looked about the same. They were going up to 200 mph I'd read somewhere else that the crash happened at 162 mph.
Stupid people, thats what it comes down to. To destroy a car like that and pull a metal light pole down you have to be really moving.

Crazy. I cant believe how cars rip apart from these crashes. Surprised anyone would live after that. Another sad street racing story. And even if they werent really "racing" obviously he was going to fast and thats just as stupid.
Those wheels are still good though.

A ferrari and porsche driving in excessive speeds? Sounds like street racing to me. QUOTE (Supercow @ Mar 12 2009, 04:10 PM)

True, happened locally in a street racing death. It also said that the porsche had damage on the side and implied it may have come from the Ferrari. That might have contributed to the manslaughter charge.
