Traffic Controller seems like it would be a really fun job. Good luck, and keep us posted. How long did you enlist for, and any ideas if you'll be shipped overseas?
I haven't signed any commitment paperwork yet but the air traffic controller is a 6 year commitment.... the choices are listed in favorite order....
now a days EVERYONE gets sent to the war it just determines when....

You sir are awesome in my book. Anyone willing to lay their life on the line for this country is more brave and courageous than I could ever hope to be. Congrats and God speed.

When I was in, I had friends doing job #1 and 2.
The ATCs take a certain kinda person, they were a bit weird. But they also got the most time off.
The ASMs (called EWOs back then) were more normal, home most every night, but always taking short missions to wherever. On little to no notice. They seemed to love the job though.
I'd say you have the choices in the correct order. Is there still the option of going in "guaranteed"? Meaning, if you don't get your first job choice, they'll let you have the option of getting out honorably...

I would ask your recruiter about BioMedical Equipment Technician. That's my job in the Army. I trained along side of Air Force personnel at Sheppard AFB. It directly translates into a great job in the civilian sector.
