I got a flat somewhere between driving home from work at 7:30am on Monday and driving my sister to camp at 8:45am. I went to pick her up from camp at 3:30pm and one of her counselors says to me "You know you got a flat tire?" so of course I play it off... lol... like "Yeah, I know. I have to wait to put a donut on later."

My parents used my car as an excuse to go out to dinner... so they brought it to BJ's where I got a whole new set of tires back in May. Really, I spent about $600 on 4 new tires in May, so a flat is free for me. Guess what they pulled out.

Literally... a 9 inch nail and an 8 inch drill bit.

Wtf?

LOL.

I just wonder... where does a drill bit come in? I drive around Edward Scissorhands suburbia roads. Plus, I never felt anything or heard anything while driving. Strange.

That was a serious nail. I remember they pulled out a 3 to 4inch mesquite thorn outta one of the company van's tires.

In the past year between my car and my wifes car I have had 5 nails dug out of tires. The things are like I am a freaking magnet to them.

So THATS where he went!

Seriously, I used to Live in Ocean City where they constantly tear down houses and put up new ones. Used to be they tore down all the old fashioned beach style homes and put up big duplexes... now, fifteen years later, they are tearing down those big duplexes and putting up HUGE McMansions that have no yard at all..

what this means.. lots and lots and lots of nails in the road from all the builders. In the course of a year I could expect to plug at least each of my tyres once. Sometimes twice. Yes, it was that bad.

Recently, I picked up a roofing nail in one of my new Pirellis. All of the homes in my neighborhood had their roofs done about the same time.. and they are all going bad now (mine included) so people are re-roofing their homes like crazy.. this of course means more nails in the road.. I can't win.

As for the drillbit.. that is unusual.
