hey. I am in need of a snowboard and was wondering how sizing worked? I am 5' 7" and 156 lbs. with a shoe size of 10. If someone could give me recommendations on the size of a snowboard I should be looking for, I would apprecaite it. Thanks.

normally you would pick a snow board that where when its standing vertical it reaches between your chin and nose. Now if you have a smaller board it would be easier to spin and such when in the air.

I just found this when i searched google and though it could help ya out

I'm 5'10 and ride a 152. I like it shorter because I like to do moguls. I also have a 169 for powder days. Pretty much just your taste in boards. If you are unsure what you might like, go rent a few one day and see what you like. Some places will even give you credit if you end up purchasing a new board.

What I've always heard and what works with my board, it should be just over your shoulders.

Go to a good snowboard shop and have a associate fit you, then just say you'll think about it, and leave with the measurements. lol

im 5'8 or 9 and ride a 155

that is a good all around size for me. if i spent all day in the terrain park id get a 140 something, or if i did downhill alpine powder all day id go up to 160 something, but i do neither often enough so i stick with my good ole cheap board.

I always used the rule of between your adams apple and the tip of your nose. If you like the park go with the smaller size, if you like to go fast or ride the pow then go for the bigger size. The width will be important to so you don't have toe or heel drag where the bigger boards usually have a wider width. I'm about 5'7" and I ride a 147cm.

I've always used the inbetween chin and nose for freinds but I like my boards "smaller" so I'm riding a 150. I'm 5'7" btw.

That'll give you a pretty good idea about size of board and depending on what you like more, powder or park you could get a longer/shorter by a little bit. Or you could do what Alex01tib said and go to a ski shop and have them help you out.

There's quite a few snowboarders on these forums. I just bought a Burton custom 157w and I'm 6'1" 160lbs. Can't wait to break it in over spring break.
