S-10 xtreme?
#2
i had a short race with one once, i was driving home one night and i got behind one with a big chevy sticker on the rear window, he floored it and so did i, i was right on his bumper the whole way down the street but there was no where to pass him, at the first turn we came around he slowed down alot(it probally has bad handling being a truck)but still no room to pass. i had to turn down a differnt street than him so it was the end of the race. my car was stock and an automatic so the 5spd should defently take them. just remeber that we were already going about 45mph when the race started so i defently had the advantage b/c trucks usually have their power at lower RPM'S. at least i think they do, correct me if im wrong.

I know alot about these particular trucks mainly because I have done a hydraulic install on 1, Air Bag install on 2, and did a basic Bell Tech lowering job on one other.
Here are some stats on the Extreme:
---------------------------------------------
Vortec 2200 L4 SFI engine with 120 hp. (Standard on 2WD S-10 models)
Vortec 4300 V6 engine with up to 180 hp @ 4400 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. of torque @ 2800 rpm
Vortec 4300 V6 engine, standard on 4x4 models, has up to 190 hp @ 4400 rpm and 250 lb.-ft of torque @ 2800 rpm
---------------------------------------------
The 6 cylinders are pretty quick, but most people have the 4's. So you should have no problem at all beating one of them out. But there are alot of performance mods you can buy for these trucks, so be careful if one revv's up on you. wink.gif

One correction here, the 95 up 4.3l V-6 has 195HP. With very few mods, like intake and exhaust only, they are not to be taken lightly. Also it doesn't matter much about auto or manual part because both are pretty quick. I have a very close friend with one who has MANY mods and he can hand me ass on a routine basis. If all goes as planned it will be at the Carowinds meet and you guys that go can see it there.
