Rc V.s. Rd Debate On Floridatibs.com
#1
ok so i recently joined floridatibs.com-... i explained that i have an rd2, and a member w/ an elantra (hyundai tech) told me that my car was an RC and not an RD-... which it kinda is!
i explained (quoted RED ZMAN) about tib's in korea are RD and tibs in the states are RC.
well this member responded back and said that they are RC's and have always been RC's (and that RED ZMAN is wrong).
now i'm not spitting blood across forums or trying to start any kinda crap between anyone, or trying to ruin anyone's name-... but i'd like to lay all my cards on the table and settle this.

anyone have any more proof that our cars were originally labeled as RD?

Yeah, look at the parts in your engine bay. Some are stamped RD or XD.
From what I heard, Elantra and Tiburon were both RDs. they changed the chassis code when they brought it to the states.

i read from official document that it was "RD Coupe, RD standing for Race Design". it reads "RD" on the back of my gauge cluster. hma service probably took it from the korean manual.
i've always known and have been under the impression that it was infact RD.

Actually, the Tiburon IS RC here in the states. It's RD in Korea.
And the gauge cluster, Hyundai Motors Part identifier for the circuit board on a gauge cluster: RD-CPE 99F /L

yeah i'm familiar w/ that thread and the one that DTN wrote when the new HMASERVICE came out.
i've seen alotta parts stamped w/ rd.
hyundai motors part identifier -... is that a section of HMASERVICE?

hmm, it's been done before.
if you were to search "RC" nothing would come up i've searched but i guess i'm looking for some concrete proof that hasn't been presented yet.
i've read the FAQ, DTN's post about the new hmaservice, and i also searched under chassis codes-... found this
"It's still built on the RD chassis, in KOREA it's referred to as the RD. They prolly changed it here so folks didn't get confused that 2 different cars had the same code.
Pull off some of your dash parts and stuff, you'll see RD COUPE stamped everywhere. " RED ZMAN
can anyone get any proof of "rd coupe" from korea or even overseas?
