I just got out of Active Duty and going to college. I've still got car insurance, car loan, phone bill, gas , maintenance, etc... that i need to pay for. What do you guys do to earn money? I"ve been hearing nothing but bad from College students... some of them work at restaurants working long hours earning pocket change and do homework and probably get 2 hours of sleep. My SAT teacher is a college student who works three jobs as a Teacher Sub, SAT teacher and a cleaning lady, she always feels drowsy when she teaches... I get $250 a month for reservist pay.. but that doesn't even pay for the prostitute, booze and Porno fees. blowjob.gif burp.gif popcorn.gif

 

If you are a full time student, try finding a job for the school itself. That is what I did, they were very accomadating with regards to scheadules.

I also got paid well, as it was a state run school

 

Mad, most colleges pay you minimum wage for on-campus work.

I was unemployed first semster, but I really don't think it would be hard at all to find a part-time day job. You have lots of free time. Work two full shifts on Sat/Sun, that should get you enough money to survive on its own. You have to make the choice between living cheap and working a lot, depending on your homework load/school schedule.

Get a part-time job, and give them your schedule for every day, allow yourslef ~1 hour before/after classes for transition time so you don't feel rushed on days you have class and work.

Everyone makes it through somehow, heh.

My GF got a position as a teachers aid for the Univ. and she really doesn't have to work at all. They just call her in when they need someone, and she has the option to decline if she wants. It's mainly just to pass out tests and collect them at the end. Whether she works or not, she still gets $200 a week. Sounds crazy huh?

 

I have a campus job, LOL. It pays $5.00/hr and I work 1hr a day for 5 days a week. Woohoo! party.gif dancing.gif

That's $25/week mang. ...crazy. It's a secret shopper job for the campus stores.

But other than that, you don't want to know what I do to make money.

Most kids either have rich parents or go into debt. There's no middle road here.


One thing I MUST suggest, if you are located near a large town in the U.S., www.craigslist.com

^^you can find the craziest and HIGHEST PAYING odd jobs on that website. I worked as a cook at one of those Costco booths serving crackers and cheese (cool.gif) and make $150 for one 8hr. day. meh...

 

Do whatever you can to stay away from the credit cards. When I was going to RIT I had a couple of campus jobs that didn't really make ends meet, so I used the credit card to pay for things like food and gas. Now I have about 5k in credit card debt, worst decision of my life. Most people going to college though don't have cars and live on campus, saves tons of money right there, and those that do usually get lots of cash from the rents.

 

Look into gov loans. Low interest and nothing to pay until 6 mo. after you get out. Even then, it's like $50/mo. If your career is going to pay a lot when you get out, then this might be good for you.

 

Get a paper route. I make $1000 a month for a couple hours of work each day. Works great for college. Just sucks that its 365 days a year and early on weekends/holidays.

 

Or, you can go into the Army for 11 years, have them completely ignore your medical problems and completely screw up most of the stuff they DO try to fix, then get paid to go to school after you get out.

I make about 1600 to 1800 a month, tax free, going to school for 4 years, not working, and they pay for everything.

Books, a new PC, Autocad 2006, tuition, fees, pencils, paper, you name it.

Of course, I told you about some of this.
