this is top notch neo nazi type bureaucracy. THIS SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED !!!!
we need to stand up and cause a scene ! you should be proud to go to jail if that should happen for standing up for your rights !!
there is an old saying, "you might beat the rap, but you wont beat the ride" so with that said, DO NOT BE AFRAID to take the ride ! be proud of what you believe in.
so i called the congressmen's office on friday. and berated the staffer who answered the phone. he told me that there was a security measure in place to not allow constituents to record with their personal cameras due to the assumption that someone could quickly take out a weapon and shoot the congressmen... THAT JUST MADE ME MAD !
so i told him, so the constituents were guilty as soon as they walked in the door? i thought we were considered innocent in this country... he insisted that the confiscation of cameras was in accordance with the security measures in place.
i asked him if the public was notified at the door, that they were not allowed to record... he said no.
i asked him if the public was frisked at the door, he said no
i asked him if there were metal detectors at the door... he said no.
so i said so what exactly was your security protocol... he had no reply.
i told him that if their was this big security threat, why was there no public knowledge of this ? he had no reply, and that if the congressmen needed such security, why wasnt it provided in manpower, he said we dont have the money, he asked me, should the tax payers have to pay for this security ? i YELLED AT HIM a big YES ! if my congressmen is at a high risk of endangerment, it should be funded, in a budget, voted on and approved by the people. most of THE PEOPLE would approve.
i asked him if he thought an onlooking officer has the capacity to quickly determine after a brief inspection of a recording device, whether it is a weapon, he had no answer.
i asked him who gave the order to confiscate the cell phones, he said it was a recommendation from the chief of police to not allow recording devices. OH so the police are making their own laws now ???? and not previously offering this make believe law to public knowledge prior to a public event ??
13 minutes i berated this man, i also recorded the conversation. he ended with, i want you to know that future public town halls we will allow the public to record.

'ken oath. well done man. pretty much called their bluff... its far EASIER for them to ban recording devices than it is to have any serious security measures. a ban is easy, especially if it isn't questioned. plus it has the convenient benefit of allowing the congressman to say whatever he wants. but yeah, good work dude.
