Ugh, Mad... we are supposed to have an insurance agent come out today to look at it. I hope, anyway. I'm taking pictures on a regular camera, just so it can be hard copy proof of the date the damage it occurred (taking pics the next day is good, or so says insurance).

And Ericy, they won't find him. NJ is the most densely populated state. That guy could have been a tourist, not from around this area, or he could keep his blazer garage-kept. The cops around here don't exactly go out of their way to help others. Instead, they go out of their way to make others miserable and to get their quota up to par. I do know this though - if I find him, he is going to regret me finding him before the cops.

Ah silvertibbs, you replied right as I was typing this. Thanks for the concern. How did your accident go with a hit and run?

Hi, my name is Freak and I'm here "visiting" from HP.com. (need my fix)

Okay... I know some states are MUCH different from others. It was the 99/00 New Years (right around midnight) and I was driving to pick up my girlfriend from work. The arrow turned green, but at this intersection the other side is a giant hill. I didn't notice the car coming like a bat-outta-hell until I was over far enough for him to smack me. I woke up like 5-10 mins later with a cop rapping on the window asking me if I'm okay. Long story short, the insurance company was eating the entire repair minus the deductable because the police report said I was 100% not at fault. They ended up catching the guy (another funny story about the claims adjuster who did my car doing his and finding my lisence in his grill) so he paid anyways, but wouldn't this hold true for you as well? Isn't that what insurance is for?

Glad you are Ok toxic. This still sucks but atleast you will get it fixed. I had someone try a hit and run. Didnt work out too well for them. A lady parked next to me in a van (I was at work) and I heard my alarm go off. It is very sensitive so I walked to the stairs and looked out and turned it off (I didnt see anything out of the ordinary). Then a co-worker was leaving for a site and as he left he came back in and said that I had a huge dent on the side. Went out and saw it DAMN. This van next to me the passenger door had been slamed (1k worth of damage) into the passenger rear quarter. Anyway, there was paint from my car on her freakin door. We have a dentist above us. I walked up to the dentists office with the plate number and had them page all of the rooms until this woman came out. Then she had the gull to say that her daughter was sitting on that side so it couldnt have happened. Took that bi@tch out and showed her my paint on her door frame (I took pics earler). Well needless to say her insurance paid to get it fixed.

Toxic, I agree with Freak. As long as you filed a police report and they classify you as not at faught then the insurance would have to eat it and you shouldnt have a deductable cause it wasnt your faught. Well good luck and let us know how it all works out for you!

Good to see that you're alright. It's a good thing you have hit and run insurance. Hope everything works out for you.

I think I get a deductable though because it falls under an "uninsured driver" claim... or something.

My insurance is screwing with our heads. The adjuster was supposed to call yesterday morning and didn't at all the entire day. My mom and I have called all day today and finally someone told us an adjuster would call tomorrow morning when they wanted to come look at my car.

Not only is the insurance frustrating, but the damn police department is. THE POLICE OFFICER NEVER FINISHED FILLING OUT THE ACCIDENT REPORT. He told me I could pick it up Tuesday, but I worked Tuesday and couldn't. I went this afternoon and it was not completed. He didn't even put the possible identification of the vehicle that hit me even though witnesses described the same thing as me. Wtf? The police station is supposed to call me too when I can come pick it up. It better be done by Friday. I'm not farting around for weeks on end waiting to get this all straightened out. I don't have the TIME to wait for phone calls or hope someone will come around. I go to school. I work. I have priorities. I can't sit at home by the phone hoping and praying someone will call me so I can get this done. IT IS THEIR OBLIGATION TO DO IT ASAP.

Anyway, my mom and I drove around the area where my accident happened and couldn't find the guy. When you are driving in that area on a Monday afternoon in April, when it isn't tourist season, when the boardwalks aren't open and so forth and so on... you LIVE around here. I guarantee that blazer is sitting in a garage somewhere. I have 2 cops that I know personally in that department keeping an eye out, some of my boyfriend's close friends keeping an eye out since they live out there, in addition to my neighbor, who is a state trooper, trying to help us find the guy.

What a mess. :\
