At LEAST move to the Midwest. Mang you are missin' out on some good American livin' West Coast is where it's at my friend.
Plus the community colleges here locally are hurtin' for profs. Especially in the HU/SS areas.

Just as a side note, I've always found that the best history teachers I've had actually went out to experience the world and the different cultures at some point. Being able to relate current culture first hand to whatever subject matter you're teaching can really help you to get through to the students.

^^^My high school history teacher was fired because he was caught drinking on the job. He had his own little mini bar in his desk drawer. He had alot of influence on me focusing myself when I went to college.
Unfortunatley I majored in drinking. 02.gif

DO IT MAN! I had several friends get contracts to go teach in Korea. Think about it man. Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Russia, you can go to them all from there, for CHEAP!
You'd love it.

It's a life changing experience to go overseas for a year or more and live in another culture... I didnt do quite what you're planning, but I lived in New Zealand for a year doing graduate work.. I had a hard time adjusting at first, but I think I had a harder time readjusting to coming back home in the long run! I plan on going back sometime...
