Okay the title says it all....my friend has asked me to be the bestman so that means i get to plan the bachelor party in Vegas. So i need ideas....where to stay what to do etc....

Couple of problems is my friend is fairly wealthy and expects extravagent things...yet i'm not and can by no means afford some of the stuff he was mentioning but there is a fairly large group of us going i think so would it be rude for me to ask this group to pitch in to cover the costs or what? How should i go about it or should i just tell my friend that we will go and have fun but it might not be the places he was wanting to stay in and go.

I've been to vegas several times for fun and twice for the SEMA show so i'm somewhat familar with the strip but i'm really looking for ideas and activities that don't totally involve strippers and alcohol....not that it isn't what we are going down for we just don't want to go to a strip joint 24/7.

Anyway i'm up for any ideas so dish them out.

Your going to have one hell of a time. No matter what you end up doing! Trust me!!!

I've heard of bachelor parties in Vegas but never been to one. I can email a friend who lives in Vegas also that nows all the spots.

It isn't bad to ask your friends to pitch in. Plus let them know the more help you get the better party you can get. Oh, and even though your friend can affored better stuff -- he will be thanking you for the party for the rest of his life.

Let me know if you want me to email my friend. When is this projected party?

My dad lives there and is a wedding photographer. If i remember I'll ask him. He should have heard just about every excuse of why the groom showed up hungover/drunk

You said not all just strippers and alcohol. What other kinds of things are you open for? I'd say take in a show. We have so many. Since this is something with "the guys" I'd suggest Blue Man Group at the Venetian or if money is an issue hit up King Arthur's Court dinner show at the Excalibur. Actually, I'd even say that the King Arthur show would probably be the better choice for a group of guys(Try to get on the Black Knight's Team).

During the day you can hit up the pool at Hard Rock or a hike at Red Rock. If he's into cars take a minute to cruise the Auto Collection @ Imperial Palace.

Nonclubs to drink/hang out...
Fat Tuesdays @ MGM
Margaritaville @ Harrahs
Toby Keiths Bar(if your into country) @ Harrahs
Kahunaville @ TI
All the casinos have Sports/Race books for a bit of sports love.

Nightclubs to go to...
Rain @ The Palms
Cherry @ Red Rock Casino
Tangerine @ TI
Studio 54 @ MGM
Tabou @ MGM
ICE slightly off the strip freestanding building
Tryst(has good and bad nights) @ Wynn
3151 @ Rio
The Joint @ Hard Rock
Drai's(After hours 4am on) @ Bill's
Seven(After hours 4am on) on the strip free standing from other buildings

Nightclubs not to go to...
Pure(cramped, overcrowded, dj barely worth a damn) @ Ceasar Palace
Vivid(tiny, empty, bad dj) @ Venetian
Rum Jungle(cramped, layout is weird b/c it doubles as a restaurant) @ Mandalay Bay

Stripclubs to go to(in no particular order)...
Spearmint Rhino
Little Darlings or Deja Vu(fully nude but no alcohol)
Cheetahs
Sapphire
Seamless

Stripclubs not to go to...
Treasures
Sheri's Cabaret
Crazy Horse

Any other questions let me know.

BTW, I say get some of the others to chip in. They shouldn't have a problem chipping in. I know I wouldn't if asked.

go to cheetahs if you decide to go to a strip club... a club that he didn't mention is the foundation room... I can't remember which hotel it's in I'd have to call my buddy who lives there but it's on the roof, has 4 different themed rooms (for all music likes and dislikes)

tabou - ok but pretty small
studio 54 - decent club, great go go dancers, and sometimes a go go dancer that comes out of the ceiling... which is amazing to watch while you are drunk
rain - don't bother, while yes you can occasionally run into a celebrity or two there it's over rated and crowded and if you can't get VIP the line to wait in is rediculous

there are plenty of restaurants to go to with great food and/or crazy themes... so as for food just pick a place and you'll probably be fine.

This might help: Maxim's Vegas bachelor bash I remember reading that article when it came out and I'd say they did it up right.

Cheetahs? REALLY? LMAO! Out of the 6 stripclubs I listed I'd put that in the bottom half for sure. It's a good place and all but hit up Sapphire or Spearmint Rhino first.

Tabou is more of a lounge. I put that in the wrong category I guess. It's still a nice spot to chill on a down night.

Rain is a pretty good club man. It's like any other club it can have it's bad nights. Overall from the 7+ times I've been there I really liked it. As for the line. You either need to start your nightclubbing adventure before they open or chill until they have been open for about 2 hours for the initial line to die down and then your good. That applies to about all the clubs since this is Vegas and tons of people flock here just to go clubbing.

Foundation Room is at Mandalay Bay. It's very nice. I haven't been there yet personally. From what I've been told by friends it is a good place but a little bit pricey.

Anyways, you'll have fun. It's all about the people your with in the end.

Thanks for all the ideas guys....here is another problem i have just recently found out about. So my friend is pretty much thinking this is an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas for him...i mean plane from seattle hotel, limo to and from hotel....etc...and then he put stipulations on it saying it better be a nice room like Venetian, bellagio, ceasers, etc.... I can barely afford to take myself to something like that let alone him as well. Is it wrong to tell him we will pay for his drinks and strippers and maybe all pitch in on his plane ride but everything seems kinda like a joke....this has really put a damper on my friendship with him along with the fact that he is painting my car and is in the middle of it. What do i do or what do i say to save my friendship and my car?

Thanks
JD

That's a tough situation but you have to be honest with him. If he is a close friend, which I assume he is if he is asking you to be his best man, he should understand your financial position and not put you in this situation in the first place.

I think you need to sit down with him and tell him that you're not in a postion to foot the bill for what he is expecting and how does HE think it should be handled. It's not unusual to sell tickets to this type of event to cover the costs but you may find a bit of a backlash if the price is too steep. If that's the case he needs to set more realistic expectations for his party.

Bottom line: if he's truly your friend he will understand.
