Default My new project.

Well I bought my first merkur on the 25th. It's a red 85 XR4Ti with a 5spd, power everything, leather interior, some really ugly enkei rims which look like escort GT rims, no sunroof, some sort of shirt knob, some sort of custom exhaust which is hanging off the car. I'm not sure of the millage since it looks like the gauge cluster was swapped out for a different one.

There are of course problems with it:
-Front and rear bumpers are a little loose looking
-It needs a new radiator
-There is something wrong with some part of the driveshaft
-Battery is dead
-Radio and speakers were ripped out so I don't know how long it will take me to fix that
-Has some rust spots around the body
-It's missing a few hoses in the engine bay because the kids son needed them for some other car

Overall I'm really excited to have this car. It will be a project no doubt but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I will store it somewhere for the winter while I gather up parts and hopefully have it running next spring.

I'm glad you like it but it looks like to much work for a car not worth it, to each their own so if you are excited about it them i am happy for ya!!!

The rust would have kept me from taking on a project like that personally, but if you can handle it it'll be a very rewarding project.

Good Luck! This will be a project then some my friend. Love the enthusiasm, definetly not many of these cars around. If you don't mind me asking what kind of killer deal did you get?

Guy left his wife and she sold it to me for $400. He wanted at LEAST $500. I know it doesn't seem like a deal to you guys but they are even more rare over here. And its close by me and I don't need to import it so it does end up being a good deal.
