The Money Pit
I recently happened across a good chunck of change, and am going to be doing quite a bit of work to the car so I figured I'd log it here.
Day 1:
Hyundai Dealership:
Timing belt & water pump
A/C Diognosis & Repair
Replace valve cover
Radiator flush
Brake flush
Replace all belts
OEM oil change & 2 exrta oil filters
Total: $898
Day 2:
Eclipse Tinting:
35% front 20% rear
Total: $150
Day 3:
Newegg.com:
Cobra Radar Detector
Total: $29.99 + Free Shipping banana.gif
Day 6:
Discount Auto Sound:
Viper remote start, power door locks, 2-way alarm
Total: $580 - installed
I've ordered a cat-back, short shifter (KFX), and radar detector (NewEgg).
Paint job, and 2 X Dynamat trunk kit are still on the list.
Rims, body kit, and turbo are possible, but much less likely for various reasons.

Cool. It'll be fun watching it come together. smile.gif
Yea, my wife has a digital camcorder so I was thinking about putting a "finished video" up in the end.

CRAP!!!
KFX just sent me an email
Quote:
Note from Merchant: The catback system is in test fitting and then will go into production. we are canceling this portion of your order and request that you contact us again in 8 weeks to see if they are available.
Oh well, still have the short shifter coming!
And got my radar detector today!

Hmm...I wonder if they're building their own instead of using the EF one, or if there were fitment issues they're ironing out before selling it...

Who knows.... Is anyone running the EF one on an 03 here? I don't want to have to wait the 8 weeks (I've already gotten all excited).

Yeah the EF one was sold and running on several people's LC2 hatchbacks without a hitch. There were some fitment issues on the 4 doors but that's it. My header from them didn't really fit at all beyond bolting to the head and pointing under the car though. lol.

Nice!
I think I'll just order from EF.

There is always a chance that they've redesigned Fail into their exhaust. Unfortunately buying from most aftermarket companies that's always a possibility.
You can always just have a catback custom made. With your choice of muffler and a good sized resonator it should be under $300.
