You're also making the unwise assumption that the King James version is true to the original scripts. To start with, the old testament we know differs in a number of ways (of varying severity) from the original Hebrew. So in that case, unless you get the same level of education you condemn Muslim culture from restraining, the same argument holds true for all Christians and some Jews. For instance, if one were a follower of Orthodox Judaism he/she would learn to read the original Hebrew text and accept nothing less. As a Christian, almost all are sated with the English translation and few, even amongst the most belligerent, nothing else is even accepted as religious text.



But that's just the old testament, the new testament is full of holes and even entire books that have either been lost or in some cases (Ex: Gospel According to Judas) despite discovery over the years and proficient proof of dating/context/otherwise, is decidedly excluded or barred by either church, state or body of ownership. (That gospel in particular is so highly disregarded that biblical historians have gone out of their way to "prove" the text of a later date.)
