Migraine's.......
Anyone else get migraines often? On the way to the mall today (within 10 minutes) as I drove: front vision got blury, left hand went numb, then my side-side vision got blury. This was the fastest migraine I've ever had. Doctors can not figure out why I get them, nor do they have any drugs to help me. Most of the time when I get them, 1 pot of coffee and sleep for a few hours. Then feel like crap for the next 2-3 days. Anyone have any other suggestions/tips to feel better ASAP? And it figures, on vacation with family and for once im the party pooper. Hope I feel better by tomorrow night...or I will be the lone postin' hore on SR wink.gif . One thing does seem to help when I start to get a migrain.....but in the US, it's hard to get a perscription for it wink.gif .

I get them too. Yes, they can come on fast, but if your vision is affected and your extremities get numb, I suggest you contact a chiropracter and/or a spinal specalist. Sounds like you have a nerve pinched/pressure buildup somewhere along your spinal collumn. I would ask DOC over at HP.com in the Heath and Wellness forum.
They did come up with a medication for my migraines, but it slowed down my thinking so much, I refuse to take it. It does not work like Asprin/Ibuprofin/Tylenol, so I cannot just take it when a migraine happens, it is one of those drugs you have to take every day for the rest of your life.
I'd rather be quick witted, and deal with the migraines once a month or so, than be dim(er?) 24x7 and migraine free.
Lastly...the only thing I have every found that helps at all is Ketoprofin. It is sold under the brand name Orudis KT. You also might try Aleve (Naproxin Sodium). If the Aleve works, check into the spinal stuff I mentioned above.
Hopefully either the Orudis KT or Aleve will help in some small way.

My Father had a similar problem, migrains and his arm/hand would go numb, i don't know about the vision thing for sure,
but he had to have the disc in the back of his neck replaced, something to do with a nerve being pinched or something,
may not be the same problem, but i would definately try to find out what is wrong,
his was pretty serious.

From my previous experiences with avoiding pain (and as I'm a bit of a puss, I'm quick to react to the onset of pain), I have found that the best (over-tha-counter) relief can be found with naproxine sodium, commonly known as Aleve. Although I must admit I have never used the other stuff that Random suggested, so who knows, it may work better. If all else fails, just load up on smack and pass out in the bathroom! wink.gif wink.gif eek.gif

Squeze the area of skin between your thumb and point finger for about 10 seconds, squeeze fairly hard. Do that about 10 times...it's a Chinese trick to rid yourself of pain. It works for me anyways rolleyes.gif
