Lets pretend NK nukes Seoul
How quickly could the US respond with our own nukes?
Would the use of ICBM's still be "taboo"?
The use of B-2's from Whiteman AFB would seem likely, but that's still a what, 20 hour flight? That's a long time to reply to a nuclear attack.

I find it hard to imagine, because I don't think it's possible. They are too dependent on China and Russia to even try it.
The nukes would mysteriously explode en route to seoul.

In case anybody forgot, we have submarines with nuclear missiles all over the place constantly. Because of magic, we can tell them to surface and receive a radio transmission even if they're underwater. If we really "need" to we can go to nuclear war response in probably <15 minutes. Not that it helps much when a rain of nukes is incoming our way, but at least our ghosts can LOL at their ghosts. Or something.
Re: nuking the neighbors: don't put anything past a socialist/communist as too stupid to be done.

This. Our capability to disable missiles enroute is vastly understated.
It's far more likely that they would try to nuke the US. I'm not quaking in my boots though.
Response time would likely be based entirely on the time it takes to make a phone call to the president and for him to make the decision. I would be very surprised if we don't have nuclear assets in SK. If we don't, there are plenty of mobile assets positioned within range.

I greatly wish to visit the north AND south, but mainly the north if I ignore cars for a sec. It's just such a closed society, it'd be absolutely fascinating to see something that probably won't be around in 50 years time, and speak to real people that exist in this bubble.
To go where very few western people have gone before.
