Holden did not sell the rights to GM to use the monaro as the GTO.. Holden is a wholly owned subsidiary of GM. Basically GM of Australia.
Honestly, the only thing that kept the GTO from being a hit here in the USA was the name. Would have been better off calling it the "LeMons" like the original car that begat the goat was called. Just too much history and baggage behind those three magic letters.

Nice! Although that front bumper (the grille, mainly) looks pretty average, IMHO.

Ya those are some pretty sweet GTO's! Thanks for all the compliments. I get anywhere from 16-20 MPG with bumper to bumper traffic everyday. Its not too bad on the gas as long as your foot is outta the pedal. LOL
