Agreed, talk to them about what you need to do to be promoted before you go in. Hell, I joined as an E1, was an E3 before basic training, and an E4 before AIT.

 

i joined as an e1...not fun even though i was making more than i was at kkmart before joined

 

When I went to the recruiting office, I told the recruiter that the only way I'm joining is if he bumps me up to E3. I signed the papers and boom, E3. Except National Guard, the US needs Marines and Army badly so I doubt he will decline the request.

 

Old thread i know. I'm just proud to say I'm now part of the best family in the world. I'm now PV2 Iodice stationed at Schofield Barracks HI. 1-27 Wolfhounds. I'll be home in TN next week on pre-deployment block leave and will be deployed to northern Iraq in a months time.

BTW, anyone been to NTC in the Mojave? that sucked haha.
