Friends don't let friends watch Tokyo Pop dubs. Stick with the fansubs or actual subs. You gotta watch it in Japanese. smile.gif

Who is Ryo Takahashi? It's Ryosuke Takahashi.
Who is Tak Fujiwara? It's Takumi Fujiwara. hehe

I've played all three versions of Inital D Arcade. I played the 3rd version in Japan. laugh.gif

Damn right man..... Tokyo Pop completly rips anime's to pieces! They ruin anything they get their hands on. Bleh! I still bought the Initial D DVD"s are they are being released in the US but I can't watch them with the dubbed English, I have to watch the Jap. dialoge and English subtitles.

Amen.

If you're going to be picky it's actually Takahashi Ryosuke and Fujiwara Takumi, but that's just being picky. I get tired of typing all that so I abreviate it to Ryo or Tak out of laziness.

But yeah, I have only seen a few anime where the english dub was any good, doesn't matter who's doing it. Tokyo Pop or anyone else. Cowboy Bebop and maybe Witch Hunter Robin are the only dubs that really spring to mind that I thought were as good as the original japanese dialogue. Usually I watch the dubs as an afterthought.

I watched maybe 2 eps of the Initial D dub and it was horrible IMO. But then I just generally prefer watching it in japanese. My japanese isn't good enough that I can turn the subs off entirely though. Not if I want to understand more then 50% of what they are saying anyways...

I'd heard there were video games, but hadn't actually seen any myself. The time I was over in Japan I was to busy working to hit the arcades. Are the games any good?

The arcade is pretty decent. Just watch out for the 2nd version and the DC2 drivers (game made DC2's almost invinsible).

I didn't play it too much cause it burns a hole in your wallet, but it's pretty good. They usually have them in the larger arcades. You can buy a "memory card" type card where you it saves your progress. You get mods and upgrades depending on your points and which car "tuning" path you choose.
