I guess the spirit of my original idea is gone... if you had to drive it every day (12 MPG my buddy's SVT Cobra gets) what would it be: Hence why I chose common, abundant elements.
Going by your rules:
-1979 Firebird (or Camaro Z28)
-Grand National (1985)
-Olds 442
-Challenger (326 hemi)
-AMC Javelin
New(ish):
4th gen Fbody, or, the new challenger.

indeed, if gas was cheap again I'd bring out the 75 olds cutlass supreme I've got in storage!
btw, I've got a z24 cavalier, don't do it!
and how is lotus qualifying as domestic. If they qualify as domestic what in the world does domestic mean!!! I believe their only factory is in England.

2007 Charger, you can pick one up for around 15K now, with lots of options and low mileage. But I'm sure I've said this at least 3 times around here since I bought mine. Stick with the 3.5L. The 2.7 maybe better on gas, but its a shitty engine. The Hemi you can get to do the 4-8 thing, but from what I've heard, even from my mechanic who works for a Chrysler dealership (AND he's Mopar through and through), is that the Hemis tend to explode quite frequently.
