that second one with the waves crashing on the rocks, do the same thing but later in the day (around sunset) and mount your camera in a position where it will not move at all. Take the same picture but with a much longer exposure, if that body of water is a lake and the waves lap about every second the ending results will be quite cool looking.

I'm "that guy" that always has a camera at hand... so here are a few pics... Nothing too artsy I feel like posting now, but these are all in the past month or 2...

First one is my pup, Izzy.


This is Izzy and her buddy, Monkey.


This is my buddy's cat, Gus.


And, while not the most compositionally beautiful pic, one that turned out pretty cool. I just so happened to be taking a 3-second exposure of my car during a lightning storm at night, and a huge flash of lightning happened. Made for a weird lighting effect.
