For the past week, I've been searching for a Sheltie that needed a new home. They're very hard to find and cost about $400. My GF and I kept checking the animal rescues. We had gone on Thursday, but Saturday, my GF wanted to go again. "Ugh, we just went like two days ago!" I said.
We walked through all the kennels and nursery. In the 2nd to last room, there she was! I can NOT believe something so beautiful was left there! I freaked out and immediately asked to see her and went to sign the papers.
Nope, not a Sheltie, but a Collie. Even better! Her name is Lucy. She's EXTREMELY well behaved and only 9 months old. She's basically fully trained. She fetches, sits, lays down, barks (only when told!), and pottie-trained.
The shelter gave her all her shots and fixed her too. Basically got a TON of freebies, and only had to pay the $90 adoption fee.
If any of you have never had a Collie, then you need to at least spend some time with them. They are the most incredible, and smartest dogs ever.
Sorry, I'm just excited on how lucky I got this weekend.

Very beautiful dog. I've been a dog owner all my life, but for the first time, my new roomate introduced me to a cat.
Now cats have always looked at me like I'm a tin of catfood with legs. Don't ask me why but they keep attacking me, trying to eat me.
This new cat is the closest thing to a dog you could imagine. He comes running when you call him, rolls over and is super friendly. Best of all, he doesn't hunt me.
Next time I adopt pets, I'm getting a puppy and a kitten.
