A bit OT, but...

Random, you know I love ya, but every motorcycle spec list I've ever seen (Harley-Davidson, Honda and Ducati) has seperate lists for dry weight and curb weight (with fluids) Obviously I haven't seen all spec lists on all motorcycles, just saying I've never seen one that didn't list 2 different weights.
Of all the bikes though, the only one I've *seen* weighed was an '86 ('85?) Harley Wide Glide and it weighed in within 10lbs of the manual-specified curb weight.

Don't know about cars though =P

when you think about it, 10 lbs significant amount of even a 600lb harley. And yes, motorcycle companies usually list the dry and wet weights, and yes, they are usually low compared to real world weights. (why they even bother with "dry" weight...no one rides their motorcycle "dry" with no fluids! *laugh*)

No, cars don't list dry and wet weights, but if hyundai were to fudge their numbers as much as the harley in your example, they car could be off by as much as 65 or 70 lbs!

Also, I'm also refering to sportbike weights, that are always off by about 2-3% sometimes as high as 10% from their manufacurer's claims of dry and wet weight.

Random,
I would tend to believe Hyundai's weights...they list the 2k Tib at 2633lbs, and when I weighed my car, the scale bounced between 2620 and 2640 (it only went up/down in 20lb increments), and that was with a full tank of gas.

I don't particularly care for the hardtop, but if the convertable comes out, i want one. It looks great as a drop top, imo. Chassis stiffness be damned, i'll add strut bars and cross members if its that floppy.

Only problem is...you have a 5 speed. You should weight in at 2582 per hyundai's claims....the 2633 figure is for auto-trannys. Unless hyundai's claim doesn't hold with a full tank o gas!

We'll just have to wait and see when someone can get their paws on one to do a test drive and put that puppy up on the scale!
