I love that commercial too. Regardless of the country you fight for, or whether or not you agree with the cause, there are still men and women risking their lives fighting to protect the way of life that many of us take for granted.

we call it rememberance day here in australia. we dont get a day off but at 11am we do play "the last post", have 1min silence, and recite the ode of rememberance to remember those who have served and are currently serving. im always touched how everyone stop regardless of where they are or what their going

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

 

Not just those who have fallen or participated in a war. That is for memorial day. Veterans day includes all those who serve and who have served. You can say a person is a veteran of a war, or if they serve, they are a veteran of the service. Both are veterans.

 

Thanks for all of the comments folks, it's appreciated by all. Thanks to all of the veterans here that have served with honor, and thank you for your friendship. I spent all day at UNM today, in front of Zimmerman Library, raising money with the Student Veterans of UNM for homeless veterans.

Remember, not every vet has gone to war, but we all have scars from our service, help out a vet, as they helped you.
